Grindr & Haphazard Censorship

The following is my note to Grindr support this evening. I finally got sick and tired of posting my G-rated profile while getting censored without explanation. I am one of hundreds, perhaps thousands of other users of the networking site experiencing the same problem. Meanwhile, we have profiles that blatantly break the rules and get left alone. As a paying customer of any service, I demand more information – regardless of what I get. I’ve finally reached that point here.

Grindr –

You are starting to give me cause for demanding a complete refund of any money I’ve contributed followed by a recommendation against the use of your service. Your censoring staff continually wipe my profile every time I post it, with or without text. As a result, I am paying for a service that I cannot use due to unnecessary intervention of the vendor.

When I ask for an explanation, I am told to read your terms of service for an answer. That is an unacceptable answer to give a customer asking for support. It is also blatant ignorance of an obvious flaw in your method of business.

I have attached the photo I keep re-posting to my profile. I took it with my iPhone. This is my face. No one else owns it but me. Kindly note that the only skin showing is also…just my face. There is nothing profane or inappropriate in my profile. Your staff have yet to provide a satisfactory answer to why my profile continues to get wiped out.

Give me a specific reason why my profile keeps getting censored before I start to think that someone in your support department is playing games with me and all the other customers experiencing the same problem. Without providing specific information to customers who demand it from a service to which they provide payment, a business sets itself up to look petty and rude despite any positive review it might have received in international media.

I look forward to your (hopefully very specific) reply.
