Will You Be #16 On The Guest Register?

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009
UPDATE:  We have a 15th guest!  You may know him as your local bartender Nick from Nellie’s Sports Bar in Washington, DC….  I met him as Nick the barback at Remingtons in the Cass/Mama Administration at the Trailer Park.   But his code name in the registration book at Subway State Guest Room is none other than the Wufpup!
Also known as Geekpup, Nick is defenestrate.org and you’ll be surprised at how provocative his selection becomes throughout the set.  Could it be that he’s one of our fellow DJ’s in hiding?
Click here or on the picture to preview or purchase.  This link requires iTunes.

Be the next to be featured for your taste in tunes! Get onto iTunes and compile a list (approximately 78 minutes long for CD convenience) that you would play in a modern lounge while socializing and sipping your drink. Send your list, along with the address of your blog (or not) and a lil blurb about yerself to my Facebook email!

I’ll take care of posting the list to the iTunes store with a similar description. Then you can send the link to your buddies and promote the rightful purchasing of music in your very own name!!   I’ll also write a post on it, and add a link for your playlist on the right side of the site. Your selections will be featured as I play at Science Club and Be:Bar on Thursday nights! (You can also become a fan of A-Ron on Facebook if you want to track my gigs.)

My previous guests are listed below. Can’t wait to hear from you. ENJOY!

Past·Guest·Room·Sets (and the blog sites of the Guests…) Links to music require iTunes.

And remember – keep it interesting. Nothing too mainstream if you can manage it. This is about exploring the different things that are out there – something people might not have heard had you not pointed it out. And for those guests that want to come back…all I need is another list! Cheers!

Note:  Some of the earlier sets have been shortened due to song-license availability decided upon by the record labels.  The most recent sets are complete for the most part.  Don’t worry, though…I still have all of the tracks if a guest needs a copy.  :)

Catch Me If You Can!!

We had a nice visit with the mom-in-law this weekend.  She came up to visit and shop.  On the day that occurred, however, I was in Canada Virginia visiting family.  This weekend I found out my older cousin has Alzheimer’s disease.  That was utterly depressing to hear.  But I had suspected throughout the past long while that it might be happening.  So it wasn’t a total surprise.  What’s more sad is that I know that she knows she’s going through it.  Those of you who know anything about this terrible situation know what I’m talking about.  But she is still with us, so we are happy and hopeful.  I shudder at what’s to come.

Speaking of shit that makes you think…I also found out that a couple of really good friends of mine broke up.  So I’m also a little sad about that.  When you see something you think is good, you never want it to end.  But that brings to mind the phrase “all good things…”.   Aside, my partner and I were commenting yesterday on how we can’t believe we’re still together.  Then at one point in the day we had a little makeout moment after which we both said “wow it’s great we can still do that.”

I seem to be reconnecting with life, myself and people lately…and being more social. Those of you close to me know with pharmecutical to blame for that one.  ;-)   A few of you have even seen the rocky beginning.  But outlook now is, shall I say…f’ing awesome.  Here’s to it.  Now if only I were financially inclined to go balls-to-the-wall with it.

At least I am back on track with my music.  May 7 I start spinning the 9 to 11 slot at BeBar.  Also awesome. But what was more awesome was running into and hanging out with John Tab at Blowoff, the DJ responsible for my starting to DJ.  It’s a sign, I’ll tell ya.

And my third try at grad thesis begins today!  Wish me luck.  I’m going to need it.

I’m a rock star, by the way.  In case you didn’t know….  You can become a fan of A-Ron on Facebook! :-)   Track my gigs as they occur!  I am actually starting to incorporate my own tracks.  Woo hoo!!!!

Blizzard Entertainment Announces Conclusion Plan for Flagship MMO

As many of you were able to tell, this was my April Fools joke.  Click the jump to read the whole thing.

Blizzard Entertainment Announces Conclusion Plan for Flagship MMO - March 31, 2009

Blizzard Entertainment announced in a press release their intent to “cease all development” and is “streamlining the support of [our] “prize-winning and industry-leading” massive multiplayer online computer game” on Tuesday.  Blizzard calls the move “fiscally responsible in tough economic times”.  A representative present at the press conference revealed that their planned approach to ending such a renown and epic franchise medium is “the only true way to show end-of-an-era content while maintaining a market share of customers who remain retained and renewable until the servers are taken offline.”  The story boarding is expected to complete over the next five years, ending in summer of 2014.
