“Attention, customers. We will be holding temporarily due to a train directly in front of us.” Do you ever get on the subway and have this happen to you when you were on schedule for your day?
Well today I heard it at least 5 or 6 times with some undetermined time between. So I jumped on AIM to see if Jase had heard anything, brushed off the comment about me being forever late, and was only like…1-percent surprised there were no delay announcements.
But then it made sense. If you wanted to say a train was right in front of us, that doesn’t mean it needs to be true. When I got into Union Station (finally) the clock indicators were set for the perfect rush-hour timing, whereas before there was a significantly larger amount of time between trains.
So I ask you…real delay or fake delay to suit a traffic adjustment? Trust me when I tell you that I save the days where I royally and truely screw up to make excuses, but even then most of the time I don’t. I’ve leaarned that lying is only useful some of the time anyway and besides that, there aren’t a lot of justified stone-throwers.
Good morning!
